Henschel

Titanium Gold
|
Henschel Reels come from Germany and offer some options not available
anywhere else at any cost. The basic reel is available in direct
drive, anti-reverse, or dual-mode and has a progressive reelfoot
option. This reelfoot places the frame and spool of the reel closer
to being under your casting hand and provides two advantages. The
first is that the reel simply feels lighter, especially when casting.
Secondly, the rod seems to "come alive" in your hands which may
have a lot to do with the reel feeling lighter. This particular
design is not so exaggerated that you end up with a radical angle
of the line to the first stripping guide, nor does it prevent your
rod hand line finger from controlling the line effectively on the
retrieve. Having said all that, Henschel still provides all sizes
with a traditional foot as standard. Sizes range from a 2/3 weight
all the way to a serious large tarpon/bluewater reel. Also available
is a gorgeous 24K gold plating that is absolutely stunning, but
will about double the price of the reel. It is, however, far more
elegant than any gold anodizing could ever be. Spare spools are
available and are quite simple to change. Spools are interchangeable
between the anti-reverse and the direct drive. That is certainly
a unique feature. The HART-COAT finish on the Black and Silver aluminum
models is remarkably durable and is much more resistant to scratches
and boat marks than virtually any anodized reel. The Black and Color
models have spools available in dozens of colors and shades. Though
slightly less durable than the Black and Silver, they are really
elegant. The dual-mode design is friction based so there is no intermediate
"chatter" mode as with some other models. All Henschel dual-mode
models from #2-#5 can also be special-ordered in titanium rather
than the standard aluminum.
